Self-Guided Battle of Westport Driving Tour

The Monnett Battle of Westport Fund established the original driving tour in 1979 following the installation of 25 historical markers commemorating the key events of the Battle of Westport.

This self-guided auto tour visits the 25 major sites associated with the Battle of Westport and provides a general understanding of the events which took place on October 22-23,1864.

Each site is designated by a historical narrative marker describing its significance. The tour route covers 32 miles in the Kansas City Missouri metropolitan area. Over the past few years, a few of the original markers have been damaged or gone missing.
